The Birth of Kayla Jade

After 24 hours of labor, Kayla was born at 8:40 AM on a Saturday morning. She was 6 lbs and 2 oz, 19 inches long.

She was more beautiful to me then I could have ever imagined. It was love at first site for us.

Shortly after she was born, Kayla was admitted into the NICU

We were lucky enough to have a private room so we never had to leave her side. Needless to say it was a tiring and stressful week but we were elated when the 2 week estimate got cut in half and we were able to go home after a week!

Final Countdown

I am exactly 38 weeks pregnant today and in one week (or less if she comes early) we will be the proud parents of a sweet baby girl! We have anticipated this day for years and can't wait for her arrival. Everything is ready to go - hospital bags packed, onesies washed, car seat installed. Today I am working on the extra little things like sewing baby skirts and blankets and making a playlist for the delivery room. Tonight we are going on another one of our "last dates" which we've had a lot of lately!
